COLOUR SERIES
GLIMPSE
This is one of my earlier pieces, yet colour has always stayed a strong partner in much of my work since. These pieces were prototypes for a much larger piece called ‘Enter’ where viewers could enter the work at the yellow point, actually walk in. Looking straight on, the entrance would not be immediately visible, almost a secret into the painting. The aim of the piece was to give the viewer an experience where they could actually enter the artwork, like when you look at a huge piece and want to walk right into it. To touch it, to let it engulf you. Sadly, the prototypes are all that remain from that exhibition.
PLAY
This piece is made up of individual canvasses which make up a whole larger piece. They are designed for the viewer to arrange in a manner that suits them, to engage them actively with the piece, to inspire aesthetic play. Blurring the lines between artist and art critic... or maybe just like a big jigsaw!
LOST
Acrylic on canvas. This is only a section of the larger piece.
THE NOOK
Tissue print. Later edition to colour series.
YELLOW CLOUDS
Multi media on canvas. A later edition adding to the colour series, inspired by an observation of the sky by my son, aged 3.
